New Wesite For Lawrence County Seriff's Department
Press release
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department is pleased to announce the creation of a new website designed to keep the citizens updated and engaged in the fight against crime in Lawrence County.
"We want to do all we can to keep the citizens of Lawrence County updated and engaged on crime related issues in our county," Sheriff Jimmy Brown said.
"Fighting crime is a real community effort so it is imperative we do all we can to keep the public up-to-date and to also ask for their assistance when needed. Our new website will help us do just that."
Sheriff Brown said the new website has valuable information about the duties of the department, frequently asked questions about the department and various links that are helpful to the public and to victims of crime.
He noted that citizens also have the ability to submit tips confidentially online and engage with the department on Facebook and Twitter.
"Technology and social media represents a unique way that we can engage with the public and in the process gather value information through their feedback," Sheriff Brown said.
"Since we started our Facebook page a couple month back, we have already had success on several cases including a missing persons case just by posting information on Facebook and people sharing it with their friends.
We want to build on that partnership so we can help make Lawrence County a safer place for everyone to live and visit," the Sheriff added.
The public can access the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department's new website by visiting lawrencecountytnsheriff.org.
